Sacred Story of Sankata Hara Chaturthi: Vrat Katha

👑 The Legend of King Shursen and Indra's Chariot

In ancient times, King Shursen ruled a prosperous land. One day, Lord Indra's divine chariot suddenly fell to earth over his kingdom. Disturbed, Indra and Shursen sought answers from sages.

The sages revealed:

"O King! The chariot fell because no one in your land has observed the Sankata Hara Chaturthi Vrat."

A poor, devout woman in the kingdom had regularly fasted on Chaturthi and worshipped Lord Ganesha. When she passed away, her virtue lifted Indra's chariot back to heaven. Realizing the vrat's divine power, King Shursen began observing it monthly. Since then, Sankata Hara Chaturthi has been known as the sacred day that removes all troubles and difficulties. This story highlights the importance of religious ceremonies and their impact on familial bonds and societal well-being.
